One of the initial attractions of Benidorm was its location, on the Mediterranean coast, opposite a beautiful bay which is split into two by the rocky tip of the old castle and facing south. All the other sides were protected from the dominating winds of Levante or from the cold Northern winds of Levante or from the cold Northern winds by mountain ranges, so the microclimate, especially in Spring, Winter or Autumn, is very mild, with considerably higher temperatures than along the rest of the coast. The sea water is also warm enough to bathe all year round.
Benidorm enjoys a special micro-climate all year round due to the position of the mountains which surround it.
